Dale and Margaret Engle
co-pastor the church part-time with Dale primarily responsible for preaching, visitation,weddings and funerals and Margaret oversees all administration, discipleship, and outreach.
Dale
a native of Abilene, KS graduated from Chapman High School (1968). He graduated from Messiah College where he met Margaret before attending Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, OH for a Masters of Divinity. He pastored in Lancaster, Pa. and later Ashland, OH. After 18 years of pastoral ministry, he founded a camp for under-priviledged children and youth and a retreat ministry, Joy of Living Ministries, in Brinkhaven, OH. He returned to Abilene in 2012 where he works full-time for his son, Matt, at Webb Home Center in Abilene.
Margaret
the daughter of a Presbyterian pastor, moved from Princeton, NJ to Middletown, NY, and then Baltimore, MD. She attended Messiah College where she met Dale, and received a degree in Family and Consumer Science. She taught school for nearly 30 years working first at a middle school in Mansfield, OH and then later with at-risk high schoolers in a vocational work program before retiring to move to Kansas. She has a masters degree in Curriculum and is passionate about education and the church.
The Engles have 3 children: Heather and Bob Beaty (Dillsburg, PA); Jennifer and Matthew Bierlein (Columbus, OH); and Matt and Amber Engle (Abilene, KS). They have 6 grandchildren: Roc (15), Tyler (14), Sterling (13), Alana (13), Emmett (7) and Anna (5).
They began pastoring the Abilene BIC Church in September, 2012.
